Difference Between Optical and Laser Mouse

Optical vs Laser Mouse

Summary: Difference Between Optical and Laser Mouse is that most desktop computer users today have some type of optical mouse, which uses devices that emit and sense light to detect the mouse’s movement. Some use optical sensors, and others use a laser. Laser mouse is a type of an optical mouse in which movement of the cursor can be detected by laser light.

Difference Between Optical and Laser Mouse

Mouse

A mouse is a pointing device that fits comfortably under the palm of your hand. With a mouse, users control the movement of the pointer. As you move a mouse, the pointer on the screen also moves. Generally, you use the mouse to move the pointer on the screen to an object such as a button, a menu, an icon, a link, or text. Then, you press a mouse button to perform a certain action associated with that object.

Optical Mouse

Optical mouse is type of mouse (pointing device), which uses devices that emit and sense light to detect the mouse’s movement. Now in advanced computing, the optical mouse are using LED, an optical sensor to sense the movement of cursor. And Optical mouse is using now DSP (Digital Signal Processing) instead of ball that was used in mouse earlier. They can change the movement of cursor by sensing the movement of reflected light instead of the motion of ball. There are types of Optical mouse’s that use optical sensors, and others use a laser.

Laser Mouse

Laser mouse is a type of an optical mouse in which movement of the cursor can be detected by laser light. Like any other optical mouse which do not use any sphere ball or moving part to move cursor. Laser Mouse also don’t use any type of moving part, the movement can only be detected the moving of light. The movement of the laser mouse is 20 times more accurate than the ordinary optical mouse. And providing users 20 times more sensitivity and better results. Any application software can be treated well by using Laser mouse because of it’s enhanced accuracy, sensitivity. Whether it is an application software for engineering, graphical application software that is or gaming.
